Humor helps us think. Humor has been defined as a faculty that recognizes and expresses incongruity in a character or situation. The video illustrates how observational comedy can be communicated by the speaker and its affect on the body when it is experienced by a listener. The recognition and expression of incongruity in this joke unfolds in 3 steps: (1) Reducing the problem to one line; (2) Stretching out the incongruity better exposing what about it doesn't make sense and (3) "Solving the problem" even if the resolution makes less sense than the initial incongruity.
